Discover the rich history of Hotel Miramar

Welcome to Hotel Miramar, where history meets luxury on the breathtaking Adriatic coast. Once the hidden treasure of Opatija, this timeless retreat has been enchanting travellers for over a century. Originally known as Villa Meyne, it now proudly stands as Villa Neptune, continuing its tradition of elegance, charm and refined hospitality.

A heritage of timeless charm

Hotel Miramar has always been a haven of sophistication and beauty. Although the world has changed, the essence of this wonderful place has remained intact. From its grandiose architecture to its welcoming atmosphere, every detail has been carefully preserved to offer guests an atmosphere of relaxation, pampering and old-fashioned magic.

Rich history: from Villa Meyne to Hotel Miramar

Villa Meyne, originally designed by the famous Austro-Czech architect Adolf Tichy and built under the direction of the firm Carlo Conighi in Rijeka, was an architectural gem on the Kvarner coast. Originally an upmarket guest house, it welcomed travellers from all over Europe, offering them a sophisticated seaside retreat.
In 1908 the villa was purchased by Baroness Horvath and the Migl family, who renamed it Villa Neptune. At the time, the property bore a striking resemblance to the Miramare Castle in Trieste, confirming its status as an iconic, postcard-worthy destination. Over the years, the villa has remained a symbol of elegance and exclusivity, welcoming distinguished guests and travellers seeking the finest hospitality.
